Voting has closed for the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest sponsored by Edmark Toyota.

Here are the winners, and you can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Football: Malakai Martinez, Meridian
  • Cross country: Rilyn Stevens, Mountain View
  • Volleyball: Tara Murphy, Eagle
  • Girls soccer: Jayla Ponce, Kuna
  • Boys soccer: Gabe Rasmussen, Weiser

FOOTBALL

Ky McClure, Middleton: The junior quarterback completed 23-of-35 passes for 457 yards and five TDs to lead the Vikings to a 53-28 win over Homedale.

Trinity Hoxie, Council: The junior ran for 188 yards and four TDs and added 21 yards passing. He also made nine tackles, four for a loss, recorded two sacks and recovered a fumble in a 52-0 win over Lewis County.

Ben Ford, Eagle: The senior quarterback racked up 445 total yards and four TDs in a 45-6 win over Mountain View. He ran for 315 yards and two TDs on 19 carries. He also completed 11-of--17 passes for 130 yards and two TDs.

Caden Young, Emmett: The junior quarterback accounted for 343 total yards and five TDs to lead the Huskies to their second win over Bishop Kelly in 23 years. He finished 11-of-17 for 171 yards and two TDs through the air, adding 172 yards and three TDs on the ground.

Ryan Schuler, Nampa: The junior running back ran for 181 yards and three TDs in his first varsity start, leading the Bulldogs to a 35-7 win over Columbia.

Carter Fortin, Cole Valley Christian: The junior racked up 368 total yards and six TDs in the Chargers’ 58-0 win at Wendell. He completed 15-of-20 passes for 300 yards and four TDs. He also ran for 68 yards and two TDs.

Landon Cheney, Nampa Christian: The junior completed 20-of-36 passes for 312 yards with two TDs and one interception in a 34-12 loss at 3A power Gooding.

Malakai Martinez, Meridian: The junior quarterback had a hand in five TDs as the Warriors beat Kuna 47-36 to improve to 2-0 for the first time since 2007. He finished 20-of-28 for 270 yards and four TDs through the air, adding 42 yards and another score on the ground.

CROSS COUNTRY

Ian Stockett, Victory Charter: The sophomore won the boys’ race at the Dallmann Dash in 18 minutes, 33 seconds, leading the Vipers to a team title.

Rilyn Stevens, Mountain View: The freshman won her first high school meet, a dual with Kuna, in 18:47.

Trenton Johnson, Columbia: The junior finished second in the boys’ race at a tri-meet with Skyview and Nampa at 17:11.

Sammy Smith, Boise: The freshman led the Brave girls’ team to a perfect score in a dual with Timberline by taking first place at 17:05.

Clay Shumaker, Skyview: The junior won the boys’ race in a tri-meet among Nampa schools at 16:50.3.

Colton Sams, Fruitland: The junior won the boys’ race at an SRV meet in 18:36, leading the Grizzlies to the team title.

Emma Hillam, Fruitland: The junior won the girls’ race at an SRV meet by a margin of 2:45, finishing in 20:37.

VOLLEYBALL

Kerissa Rupp, New Plymouth: The senior with a 4.0 GPA finished perfect at the service line, scoring five aces and adding three digs in the Pilgrims sweep of Hagerman.

Tara Murphy, Eagle: The junior racked up 13 kills in a sweep of Kuna. She also added two aces.

Brooklyn Jenkins, Garden Valley: The senior totaled 12 kills, 16 assists, scored 12 points from the service line and finished with a serving percentage of 77% in two matches last week.

GIRLS SOCCER

Jayla Ponce, Kuna: The senior finished the week with four goals and five assists. She scored four goals and added three assists in a 9-3 win over Meridian. She then had two assists in a 2-2 tie with Centennial.

Abbi Roubidoux, Fruitland: The sophomore center midfielder recorded a pair of hat tricks to lead the Grizzlies to wins over Payette (9-0) and Weiser (6-0).

Kelsey Oyler, Rocky Mountain: The senior recorded two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Centennial.

BOYS SOCCER

Gabe Rasmussen, Weiser: The senior goalkeeper commanded his defense and made nine “amazing saves,” in a 4-3 loss to Fruitland, Weiser coach Kathy Bokides said.

Keegan Oyler, Rocky Mountain: The senior had a hand in every goal for the Grizzlies, finishing with two goals and two assists in a 4-1 win over Centennial.
