Senior forward Jonah Dalmas of Rocky Mountain High led the state in goals and assists, garnering 2016-17 Gatorade Idaho Boys Soccer Player of the Year honors Monday.

Dalmas, who also was a first-team 5A All-Idaho selection as a kicker for the Grizzlies’ football team, tallied 21 goals and 15 assists in Rocky’s run to the state semifinals.

“He’s a corker,” Hillcrest coach Bryan Johnston said in a release. “He seemed to be everywhere — where the ball was, finding the empty space, even tracking back to help defensively. He has great foot speed both on and off the ball.”

Dalmas, the co-5A Southern Idaho Conference player of the year, plans to go on a two-year church mission before attending college. He has not yet made a collegiate commitment.
