Bob Firman cross country race is Saturday

More than 4,000 runners and 185 teams from nine states will be at Eagle Island State Park on Saturday for the Bob Firman cross country invitational.

Racing begins at 9 a.m. with the freshman girls 5,000-meter race and continues through 4:30 p.m. Highlighting the day are the elite high school races, which start at 11:20 a.m. (girls) and 11:50 a.m. (boys).

The entry to the park has changed. Fans must use S. Eagle Island Parkway off State Street. There is a $5 per car entry fee into the park, and cash is preferred to keep the line moving.
