Rathdrum golfer takes lead at Idaho Men’s Amateur
Washington State junior Derek Bayley shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday to surge into the top spot after the second round of the IGA state championship golf tournament at BanBury Golf Course. Bayley is at 2-under 140 through 36 holes, with the final round starting at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
2015 runner-up Jesse Hibler (Boise High/BYU) had the day’s best round (67) to move to 1-under. David Elliott (Cole Valley Christian/Boise State), reigning 5A high school state champion Connor Johnstone (Vallivue High/Boise State) and Carson Barry (Rocky Mountain High) are tied for third at 142. Round 1 leader Colby Dean (Eagle High/Chico State) is in a four-player group at 143.
