Idaho men’s basketball team to play in China

The Vandals will compete in the Atlas Challenge beginning June 14. The tournament will feature seven national teams and the Vandals.

Idaho will meet Lithuania, Macedonia and Iran in Group B. Group A consists of Japan, Belarus, New Zealand and host China. The top two teams in each group will play in the winners bracket, while the bottom two will play in a losers bracket.

After the tournament, the Vandals will stay in China to play three more games against China, Macedonia and a team from Lithuania before returning home.

The NCAA allows programs to take international trips once every four years to help enrich the experiences of its athletes while also growing the game globally.
