Idaho soccer falls in Big Sky title game
Northern Colorado won its first Big Sky soccer championship Sunday with a victory over the Vandals in penalty kicks.
Tied 1-1 after regulation, the Bears won the shootout 3-0.
Elixis Schlossarek scored for Idaho (14-4-3) in the 12th minute on a cross from Oliva Baggerly and Kayla Watanabe. Northern Colorado tied the game in the 57th minute.
All three were named to the all-tournament team, along with Amanda Poertner and Kavita Battan.
The NCAA Tournament field will be announced at 2 p.m. Monday on NCAA.com. The tournament begins Nov. 13.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders lost to Alaska Anchorage 25-15, 18-25, 25-22, 25-21 late Saturday night in Alaska. Kendra Bodine led NNU (15-9, 12-4 GNAC) with 15 kills and 11 digs, Elayna Rice added 10 kills and 10 digs, while Linnea Phillips chipped in a match-high 19 digs. Hailey Cook (Skyview High) put up 42 assists.
