College of Idaho football kicks off third season Saturday at home
College of Idaho begins Year 3 since reinstating its football program by hosting Frontier Conference foe and No. 25-ranked Montana Western at Simplot Stadium (96.5 FM and 730 AM).
The College of Idaho, which went 4-7 in each of its first two years, returns 14 starters from 2015, including a pair of Sporting News NAIA All-Americans in defensive back Nate Moore (Mountain View High) and tight end Marcus Lenhardt (Eagle).
But the Yotes will have to rebuild their offense after the graduation of quarterback Teejay Gordon. Sophomore Tyler Cox (Boise) takes over under center.
Montana Western beat the College of Idaho twice last season, both by four points, en route to a third-place finish in the conference. The Bulldogs opened last week with a 29-13 nonconference victory over Dickinson State.
