Lewis-Clark State falls, still advances to World Series title game

J.J. Robinson drive in two runs and the Lewis-Clark State baseball team collected 10 hits, but it wasn’t enough in an 8-5 loss to Bellevue (Neb.) late Wednesday night in the semifinals of the NAIA World Series at Harris Field.

LCSC’s loss mean there were three teams remaining in the tournament. Because all three teams have had a bye, the Warriors (51-8), as the final undefeated team in the 10-team double elimination tournament, will receive a bye into Friday’s championship game.

Bellevue (54-11) will face top-seeded Faulkner (52-14) on Thursday for the other spot in the title game.

Lewis-Clark State will be playing in its 20th national championship game Friday night. The Warriors have won a record 17titles, including last season’s crown, and have finished second twice. The Warriors are 136-45 all time in the tournament.
