Idaho colleges: College of Idaho baseball trio makes all-NAIA West
Second baseman Hunter Hanson, third baseman Mitch Skaggs (Capital High) and pitcher Zach Draper made the All-NAIA West team, which was announced Tuesday. Shortstop Bobby Wright, outfielder Dalton Ridgeway and pitcher Joel Martin earned Gold Gloves. Lewis-Clark State designated hitter J.J. Robinson is the grouping’s player of the year, and Warriors coach Jeremiah Robbins is the coach of the year. The Yotes (38-20) will play in the NAIA National Championships Opening Round, which begins Tuesday at nine sites. The location and first opponent will be determined Friday.
BOISE STATE MEN’S TENNIS: Kyle Butters was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Mountain Region rookie of the year. The freshman from New Zealand went 25-10, including 15-0 in No. 4 singles.
GNAC SOFTBALL: Montana State Billings sophomore right fielder Heather Tracy (Capital High) was named to the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-West Region second team. Tracy hit .429 with seven home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders have signed outside hitter Kayla Sale (Vallivue High).
