Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State beach volleyball drops two matches

The Broncos lost to Pacific and Cal Poly by identical 3-2 scores at the Sacramento State Tournament to finish their third season 5-6. Jaymee-Lee Bulda and Lane Hayes won both their matches for Boise State, which will host Northwest Nazarene, the College of Idaho and the College of Southern Idaho in an exhibition tournament April 23.

BSU TRACK AND FIELD: Fernando Martinez was the highlight for the Broncos at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, taking second in the 400 hurdles (51.84). Alexandru Terpezan was fourth in the men’s 400 (48.43), Camden Stoddard was fifth in the men’s high jump (15-11.25) and Taj Dorsett was ninth in the women’s triple jump (43-5.25).

BSU MEN’S GOLF: Logan France and Kyle Mitsunaga (Boise High) led the Broncos with 1-over 73s, and Boise State ended the day in 13th place (619, +43).

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (9-10, 2-2 Mountain West) beat Wyoming 4-3 late Friday in Laramie.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SOFTBALL: The Yotes (14-19-1, 8-14 Cascade) beat British Columbia twice in Caldwell, winning 5-2 and 8-6 for their first doubleheader sweep since January.

C OF I BASEBALL: The Yotes (30-14, 17-9 NAIA West) beat Oregon Tech 2-0 and 15-11 in Klamath Falls, Ore.

C OF I TRACK: Tyler Higby (Borah High) shined for the Yotes, winning the 200 meters (22.19), placing second in the 100 (10.95) and anchoring the winning 4x100 team (44.61) at the NNU Invite in Nampa. Tiana Thomas (Middleton High) won the women’s 400 hurdles (1:03.53).

NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (16-26, 10-14 GNAC) split a series in Nampa, losing the opener 6-0 before rebounding for a 8-1 win over Western Oregon.

NNU BASEBALL: The Crusaders (21-15, 16-10 GNAC) split a doubleheader at Montana State Billings, winning 2-1 and losing 8-4.
