Idaho college roundup: Boise State beach volley splits at Stanford Tournament

The Broncos lost 3-2 to Saint Mary’s before rebounding to beat Stanford 3-2 in the opening day of the Stanford Tournament. BSU (4-1) now has three wins over Pac-12 schools. The Broncos will face Arizona State and California on Sunday.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos couldn’t get their bats going and lost 8-2 to UNLV in the second game of the series. BSU (11-28, 3-8 Mountain West) and UNLV play again at noon Sunday at Dona Larsen Park.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SOFTBALL: The Coyotes dropped two road games at Carroll College, losing 6-0 and 4-0. In the second game, Carroll’s Tess Eaton tossed the school’s first no-hitter. The C of I (12-17-1, 6-12) returns to action Friday at home against Northwest.

C OF I BASEBALL: The Yotes’ bats fell silent in Lewiston as Lewis-Clark State swept C of I (27-13, 15-8 NAIA West), winning 11-1 and 10-0.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (14-24, 8-12 GNAC) dropped a road doubleheader, falling 6-3 and 6-1 to league-leading Saint Martin’s.

NNU BASEBALL: The Crusaders (20-14, 15-9 GNAC) earned a road split against Saint Martin’s, winning 4-1 before losing 4-3.
