Idaho colleges roundup (March 20): Lewis-Clark State baseball throws no-hitter

Quin Grogan threw the Warriors’ 25th no-hitter in program history Sunday, a 10-0 rout of the Red Hawks in seven innings. Grogan (1-1) struck out nine, walked two and threw a wild pitch on 94 pitches for Lewis-Clark State (20-2, 11-2 NAIA West). It’s the Warriors’ first no-hitter since 1999, and the 17th involving one pitcher.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: Mitch Skaggs (Capital High) went 2-for-5 with a career-high six RBIs, leading the Yotes (22-7, 10-3 NAIA West) to a 9-3 victory over British Columbia in Caldwell and their first series sweep of the Thunderbirds since 2001.

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: Teauna Hughes hit two home runs, leading the Broncos (8-20) to an 8-4 victory over Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

C OF I WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Yotes (4-6) beat Willamette 9-0 in Nampa, their first shutout of an NCAA Division III team since 2005.
