College of Idaho football unveils 2016 schedule
The Yotes will play an 11-game schedule for the third straight year after going 4-7 each of the past two years since reinstating football.
The College of Idaho hosts the season opener Sept. 3 vs. Montana Western, and it also hosts game games against Frontier Conference opponents Rocky Mountain (Sept. 24), Carroll College (Oct. 8), defending NAIA national runner-up Southern Oregon (Oct. 22) and Eastern Oregon (Oct. 29).
All home games are at 1 p.m.
It will face Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon and Montana Western twice as part of its Frontier Conference schedule with road trips to each school.
“The Frontier Conference remains one of the elite conferences in the nation,” College of Idaho coach Mike Moroski said in a release. “It seems that we are building significant rivalries with numerous teams in the conference.”
The Yotes’ lone nonconference games comes at 8 p.m. MT Sept. 10 at Willamette, an NCAA Division III program. The College of Idaho and Willamette were charter members of the Northwest Conference in 1926 and faced each other 45 times between 1923 and 1977.
The Yotes start spring practice March 28 with the Spring Game on April 23.
