Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho ski team clinches conference title
Individual wins by Mary Totten (Borah High) and Anton Waller helped both Coyote teams to giant slalom wins at 49 Degrees North Ski Area on Sunday, clinching the Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference title for the second straight season. For the women’s team, its their eighth NWCSC title in 13 years. Totten earned her second straight win with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 4.03, just ahead of teammate Anna Granhed. Waller led a 1-2-3-4-5 finish by the men, earning a one-second victory with a time of 1:56.32. William Franzen (1:57.37) and Elias Holmlund (1:58.34) completed the podium, with Erik Brobacke (1:59.36) and Lucas Underkoffler (2:01.40) rounding out the top 5.
C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes swept Menlo College 8-1 and 13-7 in Atherton, Calif. Destiny Turner (Mountain View High) hit two home runs and drove in eight on the day, while Bentli Corta (Eagle High) tied a school record with three doubles in Game 2. The team also set a school record with a total of eight doubles in the nightcap. On Saturday, the C of I (3-0-1) tied Holy Names 4-4 in a game halted by darkness.
