Idaho colleges roundup (Dec. 8): Four local athletes earn All-America honors
College of Idaho senior middle blocker Kylie Porter (Capital High) was named to the NAIA All-American first team, which was announced Tuesday by the national office, and senior setter Sierra Porter (Rocky Mountain High) made the second team. Kylie Porter is the second first-team All-American in program history (Whitney Brigham, 2011), and Sierra Porter is the Yotes’ first three-time All-American after being named to the second team in 2014 and receiving honorable mention in 2013.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: Sophomore middle blocker Madi Ferrell received AVCA Division II All-American honorable mention, the third straight year a Crusader has been honored (Andrea Terpstra, 2013; Michelle Terpstra, 2014).
C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: Junior forward Jamiece Yizar received NAIA All-American honorable mention, becoming the first Yote in six years (Colleen Smith, second team; Erika Mouritsen, honorable mention) to be honored.
BOISE STATE VOLLEYBALL: Sophomore outside hitter Sierra Nobley was named to the AVCA Division I Pacific North all-region team, and senior setter Sarah Baugh received honorable mention. Both are eligible for All-American honors.
