Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho volleyball eliminated at nationals

Midland (Neb.) swept the Coyotes 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 in the first round of the single-elimination bracket of the NAIA Championships on Friday. Kylie Porter (Capital High) had 13 kills to lead the C of I (24-12), Sierra Porter (Rocky Mountain High) chipped in 36 assists and 12 digs, and Kilee Lopez (Vallivue High) recorded 19 digs and three aces.

BOISE STATE WRESTLING: Geordan Martinez (149 pounds) is the only Bronco still alive at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational after the first day. No. 18 Martinez advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to fifth-ranked Lavion Mayes of Missouri via major decision (13-5), falling to the consolation bracket.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Alaska defeated the Crusaders 77-72 late Thursday night in Fairbanks. Detwon Rogers recorded 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead NNU (3-1, 0-1 GNAC).
