Idaho colleges roundup: C of I volleyball advances at national tournament
The Coyotes advanced out of pool play for the sixth time in school history, drawing Midland (Neb.) at 11:30 a.m. MT Friday in the first round of elimination action at the NAIA Championships. A victory puts the College of Idaho (24-11) in the quarterfinals against Missouri Baptist at 7 p.m. MT. On Thursday, the Coyotes defeated Ottawa (Kan.) 25-12, 17-25, 25-14, 25-16 in their final pool play match. Setter Sierra Porter (Rocky Mountain High) notched her 44th career double-double with 49 assists and 16 digs.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: Midfielder Julio Castillo (second team) and defender Abraham Placito (third team) were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America West Region team.
NNU MEN’S GOLF: The Crusaders signed Rocky Mountain High senior Henry Bernard, who finished sixth at the 5A state tournament last spring.
