Idaho State returns to Pocatello for its Big Sky opener and homecoming game after road losses at FBS programs Colorado (56-7) and Oregon State (37-7).
Saturday’s game starts at 2:35 p.m. in Holt Arena.
Idaho State (1-2) has won two of its last nine homecoming games, including a 44-24 win over Sacramento State (0-3) in 2014.
The Hornets are 12-7 all-time against Idaho State and have won five of the last six meetings.
Linebacker Mario Jenkins (Columbia High) is tied for the ISU lead with 26 tackles and two sacks. Linebacker Hayden Stout (Meridian High) has 13 tackles and one sack.
Idaho State quarterback Tanner Gueller has had mixed results this season, completing 71-of-118 passes (60.2 percent) for 630 yards. He has three TDs and five interceptions.
Gueller, a sophomore, has plenty of weapons to work with as 10 different Bengals have caught passes. Four have double-digit receptions: Josh Cook (16 catches, 163 yards), KW Williams (14-178, 2 TDs), Jakori Ford (13-33) and Skyview High graduate Hagen Graves (12-88).
