Boise State football nabs QB commit, loses highly-touted RB

The Boise State football team picked up a much-needed quarterback for its 2016 signing class Saturday, but lost one of its most high-profile recruits.

Quarterback Jake Constantine (6-foot-1, 180 pounds), from Camarillo (Calif.) High, gave his verbal commitment to the Broncos minutes after four-star running back Damarea Crockett decommitted from Boise State to Missouri.

Constantine helps fill a void created by the decommitment of quarterback Micah Wilson, who also committed to Missouri, on Thursday.

The Camino League Player of the Year, Constantine put up big numbers his senior year, completing 72.2 percent of his passes for 3,988 yards with 51 touchdowns to six interceptions, adding 321 rushing yards. He did not have any other offers, according to the major recruiting websites.
