Two former Boise State football players and one former Idaho Vandal are on the Ottawa RedBlacks’ and Edmonton Eskimos’ active rosters for Sunday’s Canadian Football League championship game in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Jon Gott (No. 63, Boise State) is Ottawa’s starting center in his second Grey Cup. A former right guard for the Broncos, the Edmonton-born 30-year-old known for his trademark beard also has played left guard and center during his seven seasons in Calgary and Ottawa, anchors a RedBlacks unit this season that allowed the fewest sacks in the CFL.

Brandyn Thompson (No. 25, Boise State) will start at defensive back for the RedBlacks. The second-year pro had 42 tackles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery during the regular season.

Defensive back Jerrell Gavins (No. 24, Boise State) is inactive for this game.

Aaron Grymes (No. 36, Idaho) is a starting DB for the Eskimos. He had 45 total tackles in his third season, including one sack. He also intercepted four passes, returning one for a touchdown, and recovered a fumble.

There currently are six players from Boise State and five from Idaho in the league.
