Boise State football junior running back to enter the transfer portal
Boise State junior running back Jambres “Breezy” Dubar confirmed on social media Wednesday morning that he will be leaving Boise State and entering the transfer portal.
Dubar posted on X, “God’s plan in the end. Thank you Jesus,” in response to a post from On3.com reporting his plans to leave the program.
Dubar began his career at Boise State in 2023, rushing for 29 yards on five carries in his debut for the Broncos in the 2023 home opener, an 18-16 loss to UCF. He ended his freshman campaign with a promising 335 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 62 carries.
However, much of his sophomore year was marred by injury. He played in seven games in 2024 as persistent lower-body injuries derailed what he hoped would be a successful sophomore campaign.
Those injury issues bled into his junior year, with the 6-foot running back going down on the first day of fall camp in late July. He would miss about two weeks of camp before returning in time for the final week.
Dubar has also had to contend with playing second fiddle to some NFL-caliber running backs in his time at Boise State.
In 2023, he backed up George Holani, who went on to sign with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. Dubar also backed up Ashton Jeanty for two years; Jeanty finished as the 2024 Heisman Trophy runner-up and was drafted 6th overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2025 NFL Draft.
And even with those two gone, Dubar slid down Boise State’s depth chart, managing just three carries for 12 yards so far in 2025. He ends his Boise State career with 446 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
His departure gives redshirt junior Seth Knothe and freshman Greg Ard a chance to move up the running back depth chart.
