Going to South Bend for Boise State vs. Notre Dame? There’s a direct flight now

Travel to one of the biggest nonconference games in Boise State football history just got easier.

United added a direct flight from Boise to South Bend, Indiana, for the Broncos’ game Oct. 4 against Notre Dame. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Mountain time on NBC.

The flight from Boise will leave Oct. 3 (12:31 p.m. Mountain time), with the return trip scheduled for Oct. 5 (1:20 p.m. Eastern time), according to a spokesperson for United. The service is part of a United campaign that’s adding 24 nonstop flights to some of the biggest college games of the 2025 season.

“From historic touchdowns to once-in-a-lifetime plays, these are the moments fans never forget and there’s nothing like being there to witness it live,” said James Starnes, director of domestic scheduling at United, in a news release.

“We’ve added flights across the country to some of the biggest college football matchups, giving fans more options to get in on the action and follow their team on the road this season.”

Tickets for the nonstop flight went on sale Thursday evening in the United app or at United.com.

A search on United.com on Friday morning for the direct flight from Boise to South Bend — leaving Oct. 3 and returning Oct. 5 — shows a starting cost of $255 round trip (basic economy) to $865 (business/first), with a fully refundable economy ticket at $425.

When the flight first went on sale, the cheapest economy ticket exceeded $2,000.

Notre Dame, the 2024 College Football Playoff runner-up, joins Boise State as one of the top five programs in college football history in terms of winning percentage. Boise State ranks first, winning 76.8% of its games, while Notre Dame is fifth, at 72.5%.
