Boise State football adds five on National Signing Day. Here are the 33 recruits for 2025
Boise State football added five new players to its 2025 roster Wednesday on National Signing Day. The five additions bring the Broncos’ incoming class of players — including transfers and freshmen — to 33.
National Signing Day marks the start of the final three-day period in which student-athletes can sign with a school. The Broncos signed three incoming freshmen and two college transfers Wednesday, in addition to the 28 athletes who had already signed a national letter of intent, indicating their commitment to play for Boise State.
Here’s what to know about the five student-athletes who signed Wednesday and the complete list of Bronco commits heading into 2025.
Boise State National Signing Day commitments
On Wednesday, Boise State added a running back, wide receiver, defensive back and two defensive linemen.
The class listed next to each student-athlete will be their class starting with the 2025-26 school year.
Greg Ard: Freshman running back from McKinney, Texas
A running back from Texas … where have Bronco fans seen that before? Star junior running back Ashton Jeanty, who arrived in Boise from Frisco, Texas, may be heading to the NFL, but the Broncos are backfilling with incoming freshman Greg Ard.
Ard, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back, is rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, but with a playing rating of 89, he’s just one point off being bumped to four stars.
Ard totaled 2,028 all-purpose yards in his senior season at McKinney North High School, including 1,747 yards on the ground. He scored 25 touchdowns — including one kick return — en route to being named to the All-District 5-5A first team.
Bethel Imasuen: Freshman defensive lineman from Reading, England
Boise State may have recruited Imasuen from Lafayette, California, but he has only played American football for one year after moving to the United States from Reading, England.
Imasuen is a 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman who gets to the quarterback. In his single year of playing football for Acalanes High, he recorded 77 tackles, including 20 for a loss, six sacks and 12 quarterback hurries.
With the Broncos having just lost defensive end Ahmed Hassanein to graduation, Imasuen could be the Broncos’ next big pass rusher. The three-star recruit picked Boise State over other Mountain West schools, including Fresno State and San Diego State.
Kamryn Jones: Freshman wide receiver from Temecula, California
The Broncos snagged a wide receiver from under Georgia’s nose — despite being offered by the Bulldogs, 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver Kamryn Jones selected Boise State after being recruited by wide receivers coach Matt Miller.
Jones had 899 yards and 10 touchdowns off just 50 receptions his senior year for Rancho Christian High. He was named the Most Outstanding Player at the All-American Bowl National Combine, a high school event that brings together the nation’s most promising athletes.
Jones also played defensive back in high school, and while recruited to Boise State as a receiver, he could provide the Broncos with some flexibility down the road.
David Latu: Redshirt junior defensive lineman transferring from BYU
Boise State has added a defensive tackle reinforcement after Sheldon Newton graduated. Latu, who transferred from BYU after two years, will likely back up rising senior Braxton Fely.
Latu played in 14 games across his two seasons with BYU, recording six total tackles.
Sherrod Smith: Sophomore defensive back transfer from the College of San Mateo
Boise State quickly moved to snag Smith out of the College of San Mateo, where he helped the Bulldogs to a California Community College Athletic Association championship, the state championship for junior colleges in California.
Smith tied for second in interceptions (4) in the Northern California Football Conference and recorded four tackles in the 43-11 state championship victory over Mt. San Antonio College.
The Broncos’ secondary looks pretty set with returning players, but with the bulk of those players being upperclassmen, Smith could be one for the future.
Who else has signed with Boise State?
Bronco fans will have 33 new players to cheer on in August. The positional breakdown shows the Broncos bringing in nine defensive backs, five wide receivers, five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, three edge rushers, two running backs, two linebackers, and one each of defensive end, tight end and kicker/punter.
