College athletes aren’t the only ones benefiting from rules that allow players to monetize their name, image and likeness.

The No. 1 high school recruit in Idaho plans to cash in on his commitment announcement.

Burley wide receiver Gatlin Bair will announce his decision at 5 p.m. Saturday on a live stream hosted by preediction.com. Viewers can tune in and watch for free. A limit of 50 viewers can also pay $3.99 to ask Bair a question.

Bair’s announcement will also be streamed on Preediction’s Twitch channel.

The 6-foot-2, 198-pound wide receiver is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, which not only ranks Bair as the No. 1 recruit in Idaho but the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2024 class.

He has scholarship offers from many of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Georgia and Texas, but Bair whittled his list down to a top five: Boise State, Michigan, Oregon, Nebraska and TCU.

Bair has further narrowed his focus to Michigan and Boise State, according to 247Sports National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman.

He visited Ann Arbor, Michigan, in June and spent time with former Gooding High standout Colston Loveland — the top-ranked recruit from Idaho in 2022. Loveland made five starts for the Wolverines as a true freshman and racked up 16 catches for 235 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Bair made his final visit to Boise State last weekend. He would be the highest-rated recruit the Broncos have landed.

He earned a grade of 96 from 247Sports. Former safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner had a 94 rating, making him the highest-rated recruit Boise State has signed. Former quarterback Hank Bachmeier, who transferred to Louisiana Tech this year, earned a 90, which also made him one of the highest-rated recruits in program history.

Bair caught 73 passes for 1,073 yards and 18 touchdowns for Burley last season. He also set state records in the 100 meters (10.15 seconds) and 200 meters (20.56 seconds) at the 4A track and field meet.
