Boise State dipped back into Texas to add the latest recruit to its 2023 class.
Demanuel Brown, an edge rusher from Dekaney High in Houston, announced his verbal commitment Monday on Twitter. Four of the 13 known recruits in the Broncos’ class hail from the Lone Star State.
He is the first recruit to join the Broncos’ class since German defensive lineman Max Stege committed in September.
Brown is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He also has scholarship offers from Oregon State, Louisiana, Tulane, New Mexico State, Sam Houston, Grambling State, Montana State, Houston Christian, Prairie View A&M and Southern University.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Texas native plays defensive end and tight end at Dekaney. He posted 46 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks as a junior. Brown has racked up 8.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in nine games this season, according to Maxpreps.
