NFL cut day: Which players with Idaho ties made a 53-man roster?

NFL teams had to cut their rosters down to 53 players by 2 p.m. Saturday. Former players from Boise State, Idaho, Idaho State and local high schools battled for roster spots through an unusual training camp disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Below is a list of players with Gem State ties who made their team’s respective rosters and players who were cut. Cut players could be added back to their respective teams as part of the practice squad on Sunday if they pass through waivers.

C, Marcus Henry, No. 62 Dallas Cowboys: Dallas Morning News reporter Michael Gehlken says: “He is a strong candidate for the practice squad should he clear waivers on Sunday.”

RB, Jeremy McNichols, No. 28 Tennessee Titans: Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network indicates McNichols is a practice squad candidate.

DT, David Moa, No. 60 Minnesota Vikings: Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press says Moa is a candidate for the practice squad.

WR, A.J. Richardson, No. 83 Arizona Cardinals: Richardson was among Saturday’s cuts, according to AZCardinals.com.

QB, Brett Rypien, No. 4 Denver Broncos: Practice squad candidate as No. 3 QB, according to MileHighReport.com.

CB, Jamar Taylor, No. 32 San Francisco 49ers: He was officially released Friday, according to NinersWire.com.

WR, Jeff Cotton, No. 8 Los Angeles Chargers: He was among 26 players released Saturday, according to Chargers.com.

HIGH SCHOOLS

DL, Jonah Williams (Rocky Mountain High), No. 62 Los Angeles Rams: ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry reported on Twitter that Williams has been waived.
