Boise State isn’t playing football — but it nearly cracked the Top 25
The Associated Press released its full preseason Top 25 on Monday — and the Boise State football team was just outside the elite group.
The Broncos, who have suspended their season and hope to play in the spring instead, finished 28th in voting. They were 26th in USA Today Coaches’ Poll voting.
The AP Top 25 includes nine teams in conferences that have postponed football, including No. 2 Ohio State, No. 7 Penn State and No. 9 Oregon.
Boise State has appeared in the Top 25 for 18 straight seasons, beginning in 2002. The Broncos went 12-2 last season and finished No. 23 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the USA Today poll.
