Boise State football gets running back commitment from nation’s No. 1-ranked team
Recruiting never sleeps, and late Monday night, the Boise State football staff certainly went to bed content.
George Holani, a 6-foot, 195-pound running back from St. John Bosco High in Bellflower, Calif., verbally committed to the Broncos’ 2019 recruiting class. Bosco is currently ranked as MaxPreps’ No. 1 team in the nation and USA Today’s No. 2 team.
Holani had reported offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Boston College, Utah and more. He’s rushed for 517 yards on 51 carries, scoring 10 touchdowns on the ground and adding two receiving touchdowns. He accounted for 202 total yards and four touchdowns Saturday in a win over previously unbeaten JSerra.
Last season, Holani rushed for 1,152 yards on 167 carries and added 287 yards receiving, scoring 20 total touchdowns. He is ranked as 247Sports.com’s No. 14 running back recruit in the nation and though he has not taken an official visit, plans to do so soon.
“They may not play in the biggest conference but they have proven to be able to compete with anyone ... everything just felt right to me and I’m very happy with my decision and can’t wait to get up there,” Holani told 247Sports.
