The Boise State men’s basketball team began its offseason roster shuffle Tuesday with the addition of UC San Diego transfer Roddie Anderson III on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard, who averaged 13.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the Tritons last season, announced his commitment on social media.

“All Glory to God! I will be continuing my basketball career and academics at Boise State,” Anderson wrote in a Twitter post. “Thank you to Coach Rice and the staff @BroncoSportsMBB for trusting and believing in me. None of this would be possible without the support of my family and friends. Go Broncos!”

Anderson appeared in all 30 games for the Tritons last season, including 27 starts, and was named the top freshman in the Big West by hoopsHD.com. During league play, Anderson led all freshmen with 15.8 points and 3.9 assists per game, and he earned All-Big West honorable mention recognition.

The Huntington Beach, California, native is a 2022 graduate of Fountain Valley High School and a three-time First Team All-Sunset League honoree. He was twice named the Sunset League Most Valuable Player and twice named All-LA District First Team. As a senior, he helped lead the Barons to a Sunset League title and was named the team’s MVP.

Anderson will join a Boise State squad coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. The Broncos lost point guard Marcus Shaver Jr., forward Naje Smith and center Lukas Milner to graduation. Meanwhile, center Burke Smith and guard Pavle Kuzmanovic have entered the transfer portal, according to Verbal Commits.
