The Boise State men’s basketball team received a commitment from a four-star recruit Wednesday afternoon.

Sadraque Nganga, a 6-foot-9 forward from Chandler, Arizona, announced his decision to join the Broncos on Instagram as part of the 2022 class. He is the highest-ranked recruit to join the Broncos directly out of high school.

“Once considered a top-15 prospect, Nganga has struggled with continuous injuries for the latter part of his high school career, which had a massive impact on his recruitment and on-court production,” wrote Joe Tipton of On3.com. “Considered a five-star recruit at the time, Nganga announced a final 11 schools last year — Memphis, Arizona State, Georgia, Oklahoma, St. Mary’s, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona, and Auburn. Struggling to stay healthy, schools had to look elsewhere.”

Nganga is currently ranked as the No. 76 overall recruit, according to 247Sports.com, and the 17th-best power forward available in the class of 2022. He choose Boise State over offers from Saint Mary’s, Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Kansas, Maryland, Oklahoma and TCU, according to 247Sports.

Rivals.com tabs Nganga as the No. 99 overall prospect and 13th at his position. Over the summer, Rivals had Nganga ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation.

Current Boise State redshirt senior Emmanuel Akot was ranked the No. 24 overall recruit in the country in 2017, but he started his career at Arizona before transferring to Boise State, making Nganga the highest-ranked recruit to commit to the Broncos directly out of high school.
