Watch Boise State’s incredible halfcourt shot that beat Oregon; Hutchison honored
It’s still early, but it’s likely that Lexus Williams provided the Boise State men’s basketball team’s shot of the year on Friday night at Oregon.
Williams fired a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to beat Oregon 73-70. The shot also ended Oregon’s 46-game home winning streak.
“As soon as I let it go, I knew it was good,” Williams said. “So when I fell on the floor, I just stayed there because I knew they were going to pile on top of me.”
Oregon’s Payton Pritchard had tied the game with a layup with 4 seconds left.
That was just the beginning of a terrific weekend for the Broncos. Chandler Hutchison posted the first recorded triple-double in program history Sunday at Taco Bell Arena in a win against Portland.
Hutchison was named the Mountain West player of the week on Monday. He had a double-double against Oregon with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Broncos also received one point in voting for the USA Today Coaches’ Poll on Monday. Nevada of the Mountain West is No. 22 in AP and No. 24 in USA Today.
