Idaho colleges roundup (April 10): Boise State softball beats UNLV, wins series

Teauna Hughes homered twice, and Nicole Wilson threw a seven-hitter as the Broncos (12-28, 4-8) beat the Rebels 6-1 on Sunday and earned their second straight Mountain West softball series win. Wilson allowed an unearned run for her second victory of the weekend, and Hughes went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, including the go-ahead, two-run shot in the first inning.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (9-9, 1-2 MW) beat Air Force 5-2 at the Appleton Tennis Center.

BSU BEACH VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos (4-3) lost to Arizona State 3-2 and California 4-1 at the Stanford Tournament. Kaitlyn Oliver and Maddi Osburn (Vallivue High) swept their No. 3 pairs matches.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: The No. 64 Broncos (14-9, 3-2 MW) lost to Nevada 4-3 at the Appleton Tennis Center.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: The Yotes (27-14, 15-9 NAIA West) lost to No. 2 Lewis-Clark State 10-9 in Lewiston. The reigning NAIA champion Warriors completed a four-game sweep.
