Idaho colleges roundup (April 8): Three former Boise State wrestlers at Olympic Trials

Former Boise State wrestlers Jason Chamberlain, Adam Hall and J.T. Felix will attempt to earn spots on the U.S. Freestyle Team during matches Saturday and Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa. Chamberlain (65 kilograms/143 pounds) will wrestle Saturday, and Hall (74 kg/163) and Felix (97 kg/214) will follow Sunday. Matches begin at 8 a.m. both days at NBC Sports Live Extra (, with finals at 5 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. The champions in Hall’s and Felix’s classes advance to the Rio Games. The 65-kg winner will attempt to qualify at two remaining international tournaments.

BSU SOFTBALL: Nicole Wilson threw a three-hitter, and the Broncos (11-27, 3-7 Mountain West) routed UNLV 10-0 in five innings at Dona Larsen Park. Rebekah Cervantes homered, and Teauna Hughes went 3-for-3 with a single, double and triple.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (14-8, 3-1 MW) beat Fresno State 4-2 at the Appleton Tennis Center for their fifth straight victory.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos (8-9, 0-2 MW) lost to No. 48 New Mexico 5-2 at the Appleton Tennis Center.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders (19-13, 14-7 GNAC) split with Saint Martin’s in Lacey, Wash., winning 6-4 and losing 3-2.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (14-22, 8-10 GNAC) were swept at Saint Martin’s in Lacey, Wash., losing 2-1 and 5-1. NNU also split with Concordia on Thursday in Portland, winning 12-3 in five innings and losing 4-3 in eight.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: The Yotes (27-11, 15-6) lost to No. 2 Lewis-Clark State 4-2 in a battle of NAIA West North Division leaders in Lewiston.

C OF I SOFTBALL: The Yotes (12-15-1, 6-10 Cascade) split a doubleheader at Great Falls, losing 8-3 and winning 4-2.
