Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State men’s golf finishes third in California

The Broncos completed their second event of the week Tuesday by earning their best team result of the season at the 11-team Barona Collegiate Cup. Logan France finished 11th among 80 players at 2-under 214, and Kyle Mitsunaga (Boise High) tied for 12th at even-par. Boise State collectively shot 20-over 884, beating Mountain West foe Air Force by 42 strokes. No. 24 San Diego State won the event at 26-under 838.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SOFTBALL: The Yotes (7-8-1) split a doubleheader with Lewis & Clark in Caldwell, winning 2-1 and losing 6-5.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S GOLF: The Crusaders finished ninth at the 18-team Cal Baptist Men’s Intercollegiate in Riverside, Calif. Keynan Fanslow tied for 24th in the 95-player field with a three-round total of 8-over 224.

GNAC MEN’S BASKETBALL: Former Idaho guard Sekou Wiggs was named a third-team Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-American. Wiggs, the GNAC Newcomer of the Year, averaged 24.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for Alaska Anchorage.
