Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State gymnasts set records in win

The No. 12 Broncos amassed a school-record 197.325 to defeat Southern Utah (196.275) and San Jose State (195.35) on Friday in a Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference meet at Taco Bell Arena.

Their 12-0 start is the best in school history, and the Broncos remain the lone undefeated team in the NCAA.

BSU’s Mackenzie Bennion and Ann Stockwell tied for the win on vault with 9.9s, Krystine Jacobsen won on bars (9.975), Shani Remme won on beam (9.9) and Sandra Collantes and Maddie Krentz tied for the win on floor (9.925).

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos (5-17) split their doubleheader with Idaho State, falling 11-0 in five innings in the opener before rebounding for a 6-4 win at Dona Larsen Park.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos suffered their first home loss of the season, falling 6-1 to BYU.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SOFTBALL: The Coyotes (3-5-1) split with Carroll College in Caldwell. The Saints won the opener 2-1, and the Coyotes won 3-1.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (9-10, 3-3 GNAC) split a doubleheader at Concordia, earning an 11-8 win and losing 7-0.

NNU BASEBALL: The Crusaders (9-7, 4-2 GNAC) beat Montana State Billings 12-4, then lost 3-2 in Nampa.
