Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State’s Baugh, Nobley earn national accolades

Sarah Baugh and Sierra Nobley are All-Americans, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Wednesday. Baugh and Nobley join Liz Harden as the only players in school history to earn honorable mention recognition. Baugh led the Mountain West and was third nationally with 12.17 assists per set. She also set a school record, hitting 28 percent. Nobley finished the season with 513 kills, leading the conference and setting the school record.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SOFTBALL: The Coyotes are the favorites in the East Division of the Cascade Conference, according to the 2016 preseason coaches poll. The C of I earned 68 points, finishing just ahead of Great Falls.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: Coach Coe Michaelson, who took over the program when it was reinstated eight years ago, is leaving NNU to take over as California Baptist’s head coach. Michaelson led the team to the NCAA Divions II National Tournament in 2014, the only appearance in school history, as well as Division II Top 25 rankings each of the past two years. He compiled a 70-58-16 record, making him second on the school’s win list.
