Boise State women’s basketball beats Division II foe; senior hits 1,000 points
Miquelle Askew scored 23 points to become the 17th Boise State player to reach 1,000 in her career, and the Broncos beat Concordia (Ore.) 83-77 in a nonconference basketball game at Taco Bell Arena.
Askew, who shot 8-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-10 from the free-throw line, reached the milestone on a 3-point play with 5 minutes, 5 seconds left to put the Broncos (5-4) ahead by 20 points. The 6-foot-3 senior center has 1,002 points in 103 collegiate games.
Marijke Vanderschaaf added 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and Marta Hermida had eight points and eight assists.
The game was an exhibition for the Cavaliers, who scored 32 fourth-quarter points.
