Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State volleyball has NCAA berth in sight

The Boise State volleyball team needs to close out the regular season with a home win Tuesday to stay in contention for the first NCAA Tournament bid in program history.

The Broncos, who have won eight straight matches and 14-of-15, face Utah State at 7 p.m. at Bronco Gym.

Boise State is 22-7 overall and 14-3 in the Mountain West.

A victory would clinch second place in the conference behind No. 12 Colorado State.

Boise State is 45th in the RPI.

BOISE STATE SWIMMING & DIVING: The Broncos signed swimmers Emmie Jennings (Chugiak, Ala.), Jamie Nats (Highland Ranch, Colo.), Robin Pinger (Portland), Ally Schultz (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and Georgia Zacest (Auckland, N.Z.), plus divers Taylor Hosein (Ypsilanti, Mich.) and Casey McCord (Reno).

IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Vandals improved to 2-0 with a 64-60 victory over Seattle in Moscow. Geraldin McCorkell had 22 points.
