Boise State soccer clinches Mountain West playoff berth

Falon Miller and Baylee Blaser (Mountain View) each scored, and the Broncos locked up a playoff berth with a 2-0 win over Nevada. Boise State (6-9-4, 5-2-3 Mountain West) earned their fifth shutout in conference play, a school record. Janelle Flores is the 10th goalkeeper in Mountain West history with five shutouts in league play.

BSU TENNIS: Kyle Butters and Jack Heslin’s run at the ITA Mountain Regional ended one match short of the Indoor National Championship on Sunday. The duo, the only remaining Broncos in the tournament, fell short to Denver’s Alex Gasson and Yannick James 6-2, 6-2. Boise State gets back on the court at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., on Nov. 4.

BSU WOMEN’S GOLF: Dana Clary finished tied for 21st, and the Broncos came in seventh place at the Lady Mustang Intercollegiate in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S SOCCER: Carter Perry (Boise High) scored to cut the lead late in the second half, but Northwest found an insurance goal, beating the Yotes 3-1 in Caldwell. C of I (4-10-0, 3-8-0 Cascade) was outshot by a 21-8 margin.

C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Yotes ran their unbeaten streak to five matches, drawing 0-0 with Northwest in a wild game in Caldwell. The two teams combined for 42 shots, and Brittany Houghton made nine saves for C of I (7-5-2, 3-4-2 Cascade).
