Boise State soccer outlasts Colorado State

The Broncos improved to 2-0 in Mountain West play for the first time since joining the league, defeating Colorado State 2-1 at the Boas Soccer Complex. Hailey DeVries scored on an 84th-minute penalty kick to send the match to overtime, where Raimee Sherle (Rocky Mountain High) delivered the game-winning goal in the 97th minute. It was Sherle’s second game-winner of the weekend. She also scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Wyoming on Friday. After one weekend of league play, BSU (3-7-1, 2-0-0 MW) is tied atop the league standings with San Diego State, San Jose State and Utah State.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: Hanna Kantenwein and Milena Toseva won the top doubles flight at the West Point Invite hosted by Army for the Broncos’ first tournament title of the fall season. The duo beat a team from Farleigh Dickinson 6-3 in the final. Toseva and Lilian Poling both advanced to the championship match of the B singles bracket. The match was not played due to time constraints, but Toseva and Poling are expected to play this week at home to determine a winner.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Jack Heslin lost in the consolation final at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco.
