Boise State soccer loses to Wazzu in nonconference finale

The Boise State women’s soccer team lost to Washington State 2-1 on Sunday. Kristina Serres scored the lone goal for BSU (1-7-1), tying the game in the 57th minute. All three goals were scored in the second half. The Broncos open Mountain West play this weekend, hosting Wyoming at 4 p.m. Friday and Colorado State at 1 p.m. Sunday. Both games will be played at the Boas Soccer Complex.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: Nancy Menjivar won in both singles and doubles Sunday at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Wisconsin. Kirsty Venter also won a singles match as the Broncos competed against Ball State. In doubles against Wisconsin, Mejivar paired with Lilian Poling for a victory.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Pedro Platzeck and Harvey Shackleton lost in the round of 16 in doubles at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas, on Saturday.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes beat Montana State Billings 3-1 on Sunday in Billings, Mont. It was the program’s first victory over a Division II program other than Northwest Nazarene. Emma Powley, Bailey Watson (Centennial High) and Reilly Coyle (Bishop Kelly High) scored for the C of I (4-2), while Powley, Allie Boyd (Boise High) and Katelyn Benavidez added assists. Brittany Houghton had eight saves.
