Boise Hawks drop series opener to Eugene Emeralds
The Hawks lost in walk-off fashion, falling 3-2 to the Eugene Emeralds in Northwest League baseball on Wednesday night. Boise mustered just two hits, going no-hit into the seventh inning.
Garrett Hampson had one hit, one RBI and three walks for Boise, while Luis Castro added a hit and RBI. Eugene’s Trent Giambrone drove in the winning run with two-outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Boise continues its three-game series against Eugene at 8:05 p.m. Thursday.
