Boise Hawks’ bats come alive in win over Dust Devils
Boise pounded out 13 hits during an 11-4 victory over Tri-City during a Northwest League baseball game Sunday night at Memorial Stadium.
Tied 4-4, the Hawks scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh and three in the eighth. Daniel Suero went 4-for-5 with five RBIs to lead the Hawks (23-32, 7-10 second half), who also left 13 runners on base.
Boise pitchers limited Tri-City to seven hits. Justin Calomeni recorded a blown save but picked up the win to improve to 2-0. He struck out three, walked two and gave up hit in 1 2/3 innings.
Boise continues its eight-game homestand with two more games against Tri-City (6-29, 7-10) on Monday and Tuesday before heading out on the road for 11 games.
