Boise U-12 baseball squad gets first victory of World Series
East Boise entered the win column in the American pool Tuesday at the Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series, defeating Bemidji, Minn., 8-0 in its third game of the U-12 national baseball tournament.
The Pacific Northwest regional representatives (1-2) moved into third place in the pool standings and have a head-to-head advantage over the Midwest Plains champions.
East Boise will complete pool play against host Ocala, Fla., at 5:30 p.m. MT Wednesday. A win places East Boise into championship bracket play.
SOFTBALL: The Boise American All-Stars went 1-1 in Diamond bracket play at the Babe Ruth 12U World Series in Jensen Beach, Fla. East Boise lost to Windham 8-3 before beating the Centennial Lady Bombers 11-10 in an elimination game. It faces the Litchfield Blast in a loser-out game at 5 a.m. MT Wednesday.
