Four Boise Hawks land on Northwest League All-Star roster

BOISE

First baseman Jacob Bosiokovic — the league leader in batting average (.344), slugging percentage (.536), OPS (.974), total bases (67) and doubles (12) — shortstop Garrett Hampson and pitchers Javier Medina and Julian Fernandez will represent Boise at the Northwest/Pioneer League All-Star Game on Aug. 2 at Lindquist Field in Ogden, Utah.

The teams were announced Tuesday, and the Hawks were among five teams with a league-high four representatives.

HAWKS LOSE TO HOPS: On Tuesday night, the Hawks fell 8-3 to the Hillsboro Hops in Hillsboro, Ore., in the opener of a three-game series. Four Hops pitchers limited Boise to just five hits, while Hawks righty Erick Julio was saddled with the loss, giving up four runs — three earned — in six innings.
