Many of the top sprintcar drivers in the West will compete in the Royal Purple King of the Wing Pink Lady Classic at Meridian Speedway’s quarter-mile oval Thursday.
The series was founded by Idaho native and former IndyCar driver Davey Hamilton in 2014 and returns to Meridian for the second year in a row. Defending series champion Aaron Pierce of Daleville, Ind., is expected to be among Thursday’s field, along with Kenny Hamilton behind the wheel of the Pink Lady and local favorite Sierra Jackson of Middleton.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m., qualifying starts at 5 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $18.50 for adults, $6.50 for children ages 7-11 and free for children 6 and younger.
