Boise Hawks dominated by Vancouver Canadians
The Vancouver Canadians jumped on Boise Hawks starter Michael Zimmerman, tagging him for five runs in the first inning, then added four more in the fifth for a comfortable win Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
All nine runs were yielded with Zimmerman on the mound, five earned, the last on a two-run Christian Williams home run for Vancouver (14-12) with one out in the fifth inning. Zimmerman falls to 0-6 and has a 7.88 ERA. The Hawks (9-17) saw their two-game win streak end.
Five Hawks had at least a pair of hits, led by Anthony Brito’s three. Bobby Stahel had a pair of triples in the loss for Boise, which hosts Vancouver again Thursday.
