Boise Hawks open eight-game homestand with loss to Volcanoes
Boise loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth. But the Hawks (7-16) could only scratch out one run, falling to the Volcanoes 4-2 on Saturday night and losing for the fifth time in their past six games.
Salem-Keizer (11-12) scored the deciding two runs when Boise second baseman Anthony Brito whiffed on a tailor-made, inning-ending double play in the seventh inning.
Boise continues its eight-game homestand at 7:15 p.m. Sunday against Salem-Keizer.
