Boise Hawks drop series opener to Spokane Indians
Xavier Turner drove in four runs, including a game-sealing, two-run homer in the fifth inning, and the Spokane Indians defeated the Boise Hawks 6-3 in a Northwest League baseball game Monday night at Avista Stadium.
Willie Abreu drove in all three runs for the Hawks (6-12) with an RBI single in the fourth and a two-run homer in the sixth.
Boise loaded the bases in the ninth on a single and two walks, but Garrett Hampson popped out to end the game.
The teams will play again at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
