No. 9 hitter Wes Jones drove in the winning run with a two-out single into right field in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Boise Hawks beat the Hillsboro Hops 9-7 in a Northwest League baseball game Sunday at Memorial Stadium.

The win allows the Hawks (6-11) to take two out of three games from the Hops (7-10), their first series win of the season.

Boise took an early 7-1 lead, but Hillsboro rallied to tie the game at 7-7 in the sixth before Jones’ single and Willie Abreu’s RBI single in the eighth.

The Hawks hit the road Monday for a five-game series in Spokane before returning home Saturday against Salem-Keizer.
